Why Stripe over PayPal for Payment Processing

Category : General

AGX reached out to us to handle a few changes / projects for their website. The main request was to build and implement a page with a payment form.

AGX had no payment processer in place, but had mentioned PayPal due to their concern with security. Gravity Forms has several integration with PayPal products, so we went with that option as the setup seemed fairly simple.

While we’ve got everything working, the process to get there was muddy. Lack of support, unclear documentation, and the need for multiple different accounts caused a lot of confusion.

We even went through an onboarding call as well as an integration call where we were told everything was setup properly, only to find out the accounts had not been cleared to accept payment when we went to test.

For any other clients who may need a payment processor in the future, our initial recommendation should be Stripe. Robb hasn’t had any issues with them in the past, and PayPal has been a headache to deal with. Costs are basically the same between the platforms.
